About Us

Kentstone Properties Limited is a privately owned property investment company based in Kent with a mixed use property portfolio spread across Southern England.

The company was incorporated in 1862, making it one of the oldest trading companies in the country. It was established to generate returns for its shareholders but also with the philanthropic objective of improving the living conditions of workers and their families in Maidstone. Over the years, the company diversified into commercial property which now makes up over 80% of the portfolio. The commercial portfolio is weighted towards industrial and warehouse units but the company also invests in retail, restaurants and offices.

Kentstone Properties is actively engaged in improving and extending the property portfolio and is always seeking new investment opportunities, especially in the Home counties.

The lot sizes we are currently seeking are in the range of £250,000 – £3,500,000 and we are delighted to retain agents on the basis of effective introductions.

Personnel

Chairman:

Robert Coombe

Robert served as Company Secretary for 20 years before becoming a director in 2018. He is a partner in Keystone Law specialising in commercial property and development work having previously been a partner and director of Whitehead Monckton for many years. He has previously held the positions of Deputy Coroner for Maidstone and Mid Kent, and Under Sheriff of Kent. He is an avid sports fan, especially football, cricket and golf which he plays as regularly as he can.

Finance Director & Company Sectretary:

Jackie Hunter

From September 2018, Jackie, a Chartered Accountant, has taken on financial management of the business. After training with Deloitte and Touche she has worked within business for 20 years. She brings previous experience in the construction sector to the company. Outside of work Jackie is passionate about the welfare of her horses.

Managing Director:

John Wilkins (MRICS)

John’s background is commercial agency, valuation and Landlord and Tenant. He was previously a Director at Hindwoods Chartered Surveyors and a Partner in Cluttons. John is the principal contact at Kentstone for property management, acquisitions and disposals. John lists, among his interests, fly fishing, squash and motorcycles.

Director:

Peter Searle

From May 2023, Peter, a Chartered Constructor, has joined the business. Starting as a civil engineer he progressed up to director level for a Tier 1 main contractor, a role he held for 10 years. Since 2016 he has worked as a consultant helping SME’s. He brings both technical building knowledge and business strategy to the board. Outside of work Peter enjoys travelling and skiing.

Assistant to John Wilkins:

Danielle Lee

Danielle joined in August 2023 and brings a wealth of administrative experience in construction and property. She has a keen interest in the property and construction industry and has worked for construction consultancies such as Gleeds and ISG. Beyond her professional pursuits, she enjoys socialising, exploring new destinations, and spending time with her family.

Kirsty joined our team in June 2022 after relocating to Sandwich to be closer to the coast and countryside. Her finance background comes from working in the hospitality and retail sector and with our support, she is working toward her goal of becoming a Chartered Accountant through ACCA. By working part-time, Kirsty is able to balance her professional aspirations with spending quality time with her three young children, as well as pursuing hobbies like running and Pilates.
